Spring Cleaning
SPRING CLEANING TO SPARK JOY
Marie Kondo invented the KonMari method of organization, which asks you to look at your belongings and ask yourself, “Does this spark joy?” If something makes you unhappy, it’s time to find a new place for it.
Now that Spring is here, it’s the perfect time to do some spring cleaning the Marie Kondo way. Are you ready to clean out and declutter your home?
Step One in Spring Cleaning
To get started on your spring cleaning, just take an afternoon to walk through your home. Find any extra clothes, boxes of knick-knacks, files, toys, books, music, and movies laying around.
Go through your garage and take a serious look at your lawn equipment, extra furniture, and holiday décor.
As you pull out each item, ask yourself, “Does this spark joy?”If looking at that item makes you frustrated or annoyed, or doesn’t spark any emotion at all, it’s time to get rid of it. You may even find something brings you joy, but it’s taking up space in your home and causing you grief.
Marie Kondo would tell you to donate what you can, move things you need to keep elsewhere, and trash the rest.
Spring Cleaning Your Way Into Storage
Now, once you have collected some items that need a new home, it’s time to find a place to put them. That’s where Modern Storage® steps in!
The best way to find joy in your home again is to move out the clutter and get it locked away in a secure storage unit.
Depending on how much you need to declutter, we can recommend a variety of storage unit sizes to suit you:
5x5—store small boxes of files, boxes, clothes, décor, tec.
5x10—store small furniture and larger décor in addition to some boxes
10x10—store lawn equipment and larger furniture in addition to boxes
10x15—store a mixture of everything cluttering your house, up to two or three bedrooms worth of joyless stuff
